Daniel—Heh heh heh. Ta mate. Yes, I see no need for the entrance to my town not to be attractive in some way. It is a small effort, but a few others have done this as well with snowdrops and daffs. It is cheerful to see. I appreciate your kind words.
@Sjoerd If I remember correctly that Hosta is called "Patriot". It has pinkish lavender flowers when it blooms.
Beutiful yours looks a bit different than mine, my leaves are broader and the spotted patterns are a lot less distinctive. (I have a picture of what's started this year but the leaves get much bigger and wider, if you want i'll have to find a picture from the summertime) That's so cook!
I'm guessing that purple leaf / yellow flower is a type of Euphorbia? Quite striking and beautiful [/QUOTE] Do you mean this one Daniel? It looks like Berberis thunbergia to me.
Shaw— those bloomers really look cheerful there. You have a good selection. Kay—Your Pulmonaria looks pretty proud of itself. I always enjoy seeing them come into bloom. I have them here and there along the banks of the canals mostly, but also in a couple of plots. What a great Spring plant it is. Yours looks very healthy. Good to see you back, BTW.
Thank you, I wasn't sure the yellow primrose would come back because it died after I planted it a few years ago and didn't come back last year, but here it is! I'm so thrilled to see it! I plan to get more flowers for the corner of my property I am planning on getting crocus, it will have to be after flowering for this year but should come back next year. I hope to get other flowers too but that's the big thing next to herbs for my herb garden I started last year. Many of these plants were donated to our local library where we have a huge plant sale in May and I support the library by buying them, they are also pretty local, as a couple nurseries donate as well as home Gardners! It's awesome!
Croci are a super Springtime plant, aren’t they. I grow them in the beds of my allotment, but I personally think they look even better when planted in a grass lawn. I once planted some in the grassy area under the large trees in the park across from where I live. They are so lovely to see each year.
I would be too afraid I would mow it down. I have actually done that with my lily last year as my grass is starting to invade my garden (i really wish i had a clover/creeping thyme yard )
