Last night I watered my big blackberry patch. This morning I watered my mayhaw tree with the (some sort of tall white lily that's in there, which is about to bloom). Reorganized my potting shed, which is always disorganized since it really is too small since the addition of the electric riding mower being parked in there. Other than that it's a laundry day and a day to wash up all the pots I grew my veg and flowers, now planted out, in. Easy day, actually.

Gathered-up some of the rougher bedding mulch and took it away to the local garden rubbish staging area.

Spent the morning uncovering and checking over the insitu Dahlias. 17 so far and if we don't go out walking this afternoon I will hopefully do the rest.
Also potted up the remaining Petunias.

Well done, Oreti— I am glad to hear that mulching your dahlia’s has had a good result so far. Chapeau.
I hope to see some piccies if them and the Petunias later on.
    How’s the knee going?

Yes will definitely put some pics up when they all bloom @Sjoerd.

My knee is slowly and painfully progressing...well I hope that's what it's doing. I had a good night last and got 2hours and 54 minutes sleep. Wish it was that long every night.

Love seeing your posts and pics, you've certainly been working very hard.....all is looking fabulous Sjoerd.:setf_016:

I got quite a bit done today.
Went to Monton Fencing to get the bits for the fence next to our drive. On the way back called in B&Q near the Trafford Centre to see if they had a bit of the trellis I needed. They didn't and I was told it was discontinued!
    Then did the grocery shopping.
I also resolved this impending problem in the tea-house.

I don't have more than a couple all day if I'm working in the garden and sometimes none, like today.

Anyway... I got the trellis painted. Including the top beam and the frames.

You can just see part of the pink wisteria, top left-hand corner.

I'm going to repair the end bit, the difference doesn't matter.

It was a pain trying to paint the back around the wisteria blooms.

I then repaired the side fence, it needed new caps and a few batons.

All the houses were built in 1965. We bought it in 1972. That same fence was there at the time!
OK It could do with a paint, but I'm not bothered, it's now as sturdy as ever and "it'll see us out."

These days, you would do well to get more than fifteen years out of a Waneylap fence panel. It looks a bit "up and down" but the reason is because, two panels are over drain covers.

The lawn got the mow it needed. The third of these azaleas is coming out just as the one on the right side is beginning to fade.

Of the twelve roses on this patio, there has to be one that wants to be the first to bloom.

One of the dahlias in the five big pots in the shed is starting to show!

This stuff in the side bed is really rampant now. Here a hosta is trying to get through.

    Here it's a peony.

    and here a hebee.

The blue wisteria on this pergola is in full bloom, the white is nearly there.

If it's dry tomorrow, I'll give the balustrade of this pergola a coat of paint, before the falling blossom becomes an inconvenience.

Today I watered and fertilized all my roses, (25 if I counted right) added more mulch to my Crepe Myrtle trees and Persimmon tree after weeding and watering them.
Then I found that my Fig had a dead branh too big for secateurs so I got my loppers and trimmed that and two big dead branches off two different rose bushes. My Beautyberry bush (Callicarpa Americana) had a ton off dead branches but it has revived with lots of fresh green growth so, lots of dead branch pruning on that. This is weird because they grow here in the wild !!

Lastly I planted out a white Casper eggplant and a white yarrow that I hadn't planted out with the others. It was a bit too small to plant out.

I have shades to put up on my back porch...nosy neighbor !! I have arthritis flaring in my left hip so, after the drugs kick in, I'll hang those up. :p

Wow impressive garden and spring blooms are taking over . So well maintained and beautiful color.
My wisterias aren’t doing very well this season.

Note to all gardeners : BELDING ground squirrels are on the Hot Wanted List in many states across US:
I think the ground squirrels that had over run my garden the last 2 years has taken a toll on so many plants lost or severely damaged. Some plants may recover in time, but the loss added up to hundreds if not thousands in long term damage I did trap the Belding ground squirrels that totally decimated my garden over an acre IN SIZE. And they got the gas chamber. Ya know those gopher smoke bombs ? I trapped them then set those off in an area the ground squirrels were blocked in , so those ground squirrels are toast.:) These squirrels have been known to decimate acres and acres of farm crops in many states across the US which accrued in millions $ of lost crops.

But the wisterias are slowly recovering and just now setting buds and some large branches across the arbors didn’t bud out at all. But a few rhodies and azalias are blooming . Soon all the rhodies will be blooming like a parade of color in the garden. :smt023

And Oreti just had her knee replaces last Dec. she;so coming around slowly but it’s a long recovery. Take care Oreti.

Anniekay just wanted to add I am so sorry about your hip pain. I feel for you. I have had both my hips replaced. It’s not fun but it’s the only alternative to a pain free mobile life. Sending healing blessings your way.

It's nice to be on here again. I ended up with whatever is running around my old school. I haven't been out except to take my granddaughter to school. I make her ride the bus home. I didn't even go to yoga on Monday! I hope I feel better this weekend, it's supposed to be nice.

All of you look like you're doing well. Sjoerd where have you been? Someplace fun and exciting?

I managed to get something done today, it wasn't much but i started prepping and mulching my herb garden! I just started it laster year but ran out of mulch and didn't have the money for more, but what luck one of my trees was taken down (not on my dime thankfully) as it was a danger to my neighbor's shed, and i got free mulch!! I didn't know about it until the frost so i couldn't put it down until today

I couldn't finish it all because i pulled so many weeds... but i did accomplish a lot! The mulch is a different color than the usual mulch i get so it's lighter but um.... beggers can't be choosers!!
