Bryobia praetiosa This tiny mite is not even one millimetre in size, but his colour springs right out at you in the spring garden. It would fit on the head of a pin, and its colour is much more red than my foto would suggest. Another visitor to our garden is the Jackdaw. This cheeky corbid is happily strolling on one of the garden paths. He sort of looks like he might be suggesting that I could better spend more time cleaning the paths than slurping tea in the shade. So then, here I sit having tea and ignoring the jackdaws criticism, while Lonesome Larry picks at his food on top of the bird feeder. The Hakonechloa are really coming right along. What a joy.
