That's beautiful Polly! I've never been able to get them to bloom more than once.

Love the colour Polly. They're what I call 'impact' plants because they are so striking.

    always wanted one.

Is it pretty hard to keep an Amaryllis? I have always wanted to have one so it blooms during the drabbest time of year.

Hi Saladbowl. I've never found amaryllis hard to grow and if you plant them in late summer/early autumn they should flower for you during winter. :-D

    Polly, that is really pretty.

When I lived in south Florida Amaryllis bloomed all year round.....but then down there you can poke a wooden toothpick in a pot of soil and it will grow.

Lovely Polly. My bulbs that were doing so well were eaten by slugs and snails during the autumn so it looks like I will be snapping some up in the sales.
