    Saving on elec.

You may want to ask you elec. provider about this, they will come out and help you with idea's, here in FL. we had them come out and for free put a spec. timer gadget on our hot water heater, I know it now runs only at certain times, they assured us we'd never know the difference, or be without hot water, but it would save a bundle on elec. and guess what it worked and they were correct! our home is very energy efficient otherwise, but they will give plenty of good advise especially in older homes.

We have a grocery supplier near us that the public can buy from as long as you use just cash. (this is a 'real' business supplier, not like Costco). I've found it useful for a small number of things, our favorite being a 10 lb. box of frozen chicken breast that is already cooked and diced for about the same as I pay for the raw with-bones version at the store. I scoop it into quart ziploc bags and can just grab one out of the freezer to make a quick dinner.

We wash and reuse our ziplocs too, as long as it was anything but raw meat in them. I also have a set of vinyl "shower caps" for bowls with elastic around the edges that I got years ago, haven't used hardly any cling-wrap since. (I've only seen them in the "Vermont Country Store" catalog recently - not sure where else you might find them), I've seen a version of them on the market recently, but it they were thin and disposable (which kind of defeats the purpose to my mind).

    Very good ideas..........you have.

I also save pennies, by using vinegar as my window cleaners......Cheaper and works great and shines.
Just pour it directly into the spray bottle and squirt away.

Use bleach right out of the bottle for cleaning the commode, instead of expensive cleaners.. Kills germs, too.

    Ok.........

Does the size of the tank make any difference?

We got the smallest size for only 2 of us.

    hot water tank

    I stated that wrong..

Smaller tank heats faster, would not have a bearing on the temp........Just time.
    Sorry.
