Today, 16 Jan after an incredible journey of 4.7 billion kilometres , taking 7 years, the Stardust satillite has returned to Earth, carrying with it arguably the most precious dust anywhere on the planet. The dust was grabbed from a passing comet. Comets are believed to be primordial leftovers from before the birth of our sun and solar system. Let's hope they publish the results of what they find. Should make fascinating reading if/when they do. :D

I know I was following the story on BBC News Bugs. Amazing stuff. To think that they now have something in their possession that they made a journey of 4.7 billion kilometres to get is very impressive. I hope they learn a lot from it.
