Hello, as I stated above, I'm very new to this. However I've been planting some things. A week ago, I bought 2 tulip trays from Lowe's. I know they are meant to be planted in the winter, but I guess these were planted somewhere in winter...anyhoo they had come up, but not yet bloomed. So I planted them and now 1 bed is not doing so hot. I thought that area got more sun than it does. It was near dark when I planted them so I could not really tell. The only time they really get sun that I can tell is toward the end of the day. I've been watering them good. Daily for the frist few days, then we got a good rain so I waited 3 days. My question is...are they dying? Some of them have kinda slumped over. They have little buds but are not blooming. Can I move them to another part of the yard? Do I need to? I just don't want them to dye. I never knew it would be this hard to keep them alive! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I presume the other tulips you planted out are OK so if they are getting lots of light then I think the lack of sunlight is what may be making the others droop Bella. I would try moving them to a lighter, and warmer, position and see if they perk up. :-D
I would water well and then wait a few days before watering again. More plants, indoor and out are killed by overwatering. Good luck and don't be dishearted by this. 8)
thank you all for your fast reply. I will move them Saturday. I'm not sure if I've been giving them 2 much water. Is there a website with everything for beginners? That would be soooooo helpful! Today, both beds look even sicker than before :'( I don't wanna kill ' em! Thanks all!
some times depth has to do with them not coming up right, maybe their just bad bulbs,lol..to make ya feel better!
I hope these websites will help you out a little Bella. :-D http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/C876 http://www.lewisgardens.com/beginner.htm http://www.geocities.com/mastergardener2k/
