Hi there all, According to the members map I am the only one residing in Dublin, Ireland, well actually anywhere in Ireland! I can't really believe that and even though I am delighted to make everyone's aquaintance I'd love it if any Dubs would put there hands up as I will have some location specific questions. Before those though I will have others, so follow me to the flowers section to see my question. Looking forward to the communication. Warm regards, Rachael
Hi Rachael and a warm welcome to our home on the web GardenStew While I'm not from Dublin I am 100% Irish I'm from Galway but currently residing in Sweden. So that means there used to be a member map pin in Ireland. How was your Paddy's Day?!
hi rachael, dublin is a place I have yet to visit but will try soon it will be a ferry job as I am in West Wales which has been very wet of late but the sun has been shining today. welcome to gardenstew, listen to me I am fairly new on here too. G.
Well it's nice to be here Hey, thanks for the welcome. My Paddy's Day was fairly awful/boring oh gnomish one, as has been the norm for me for the last decade or so. You see I work in restaurants, so have always had to work, obviously sober, and deal with the drunken but happy customers who need food now and are invariably messy. These days I am working in a restaurant in Temple Bar Square, which for those that don't know is where all tourists are coralled in the very centre of the city in the guise of being the cultural quarter. Anyway, it meant that for most of the day/night we were absolutely dead quiet while watching the streets heave, except for sporadic rushes when it was crazy. Other than that it was wonderful Anyhoo, the weather is starting to get springlike, the leaves on my wisteria are unfurling beautifully, I have a clear view of the Dublin Mountains over the rooftops and chimney pots as the sun catches off them, and I'm getting really excited about all the possibilities for this year and my "garden" otherwise known as a balcony! I have lots of questions for you all, but have started with a complicated one. Please to take a look under Flowering Plants. See yous on the flip side. Rachael
Hello Rachael, welcome to the group. It sounds like you have a spectacular view from your garden/balcony.
Hello Rachael from across the water in Scotland!! I've only been to Ireland once (Cork) but it left a lasting impression on me. The people were so friendly and the scenery unbelievable. Neither wonder it's called the Emerald Isle. Lovely to have you here with us. :-D
