Do you think it is to early to sow some spring onions in little clusters in pots now? I guess they would be ready to plant out in March time and I could give them some fleece or cloches for protection.....just trying to get a march on the seasons (is that the right saying..... :? )
If I sow spring onions EJ i do it around about now. I put about 7 in a 4" pot and leave them on the kitchen window sill (faces towards the south) and I've not lost any yet. As you say, come spring, they're big enough to be planted outdoors usually. However, I always leave mine until early May as you can never depend on our delightful Scottish weather not to throw a few severe frosts at you in March and April.
EJ Oh dear!! Like Tim I am about to dump at least 200 pots of various sizes. I just need to return my sun room to it's original use!! It has got pots everywhere. Lorna.
