Recently I had to get out my letter file to work on a doggy tombstone.(sorry Princess) In the file I came across this star pattern and showed it to hubby and we decided to make one. We used some inexpensive "fern glass" for the first one.

Then of course we needed several more and decided to make them different sizes. Here they are ready for soldering. That white glass is a beautiful glass called Baroque.
    This one is the largest.
    This one is the yellowest.
On the very small red one we dropped a glass bead.
    Here they are temporarily together.

Of course no star is complete without Mr. Moon.

Bethie those are really lovely. Are they difficult to make and where do you get the glass from? They would make wonderful Christmas or birthday gifts for some of my friends. Of course I'd have to keep a few for myself too. :D

Eileen, I would say the stars are fairly easy to make. They are all straight cuts with no curves. It's one large diamond and then 11 identical pieces make the rest. I order glass and get glass when I go to the Big City. I have enough glass in my craft room to easily make 200 things at any given moment. 8)

Very enchanting Bethie, seeing them all hang together is quite a pleasant sight. Excuse my curiosity but what substance do you edge the glass with?

Gardenstew, that is copper foil tape that is then fluxed and soldered over. It is the method of Tiffany lamps. The other stained glass method is lead that is usually used on larger things.

Bethie, you make it sound so efortless. The Baroque glass is awesome. They do look nice hanging together. Let us see them when they are in their permanent place.

Same method on Mr. Moon. I very seldom work with lead came but hubby frequently does. He will be making a church window soon with lead. 8)

I think your glass work is fantastic.

I bought a beveled glass star of that same design as a gift for my mom, about 15 years ago.
It was one of the things that I brought back home after she passed away in 1993.
It hangs in my window, and rainbows dance across the walls. :-D
It's such a beautiful design, I love yours.

Cajunbelle, the only one made especially for me is the little red one. The others may just fly away from here.
Zuzu, your beveled one sounds lovely complete with beautiful memories.

Ohhhhh, I love them all. You two really work well together creating beauties.
Mr. Moon would look great hanging on my front porch with my other moon and sun plaques, but I digress

How big is the church window he will be creating?

I believe hubby's church window is about 5by8. It will have to be reinforced. He will be installing it also. He has built several windows for this local church. I don't believe there is a recliner in His future either. :p
