Do you think it is to early to sow some spring onions in little clusters in pots now? I guess they would be ready to plant out in March time and I could give them some fleece or cloches for protection.....just trying to get a march on the seasons (is that the right saying..... :? )

If I sow spring onions EJ i do it around about now. I put about 7 in a 4" pot and leave them on the kitchen window sill (faces towards the south) and I've not lost any yet. :D As you say, come spring, they're big enough to be planted outdoors usually. However, I always leave mine until early May as you can never depend on our delightful Scottish weather not to throw a few severe frosts at you in March and April.

EJ Oh dear!! Like Tim I am about to dump at least 200 pots of various sizes. I just need to return my sun room to it's original use!! It has got pots everywhere. Lorna.
