Hello all! Looks like a very friendly, helpful group of people here :-D Here in this area of Texas, gardening is impossible right now unless you like to garden in the mud. After all this rain finally ends, then we'll probably have to get set for the Summer drought that always seem to hit. Gardening is a challenge, but the native plants do well and don't require a lot of water. I'm also actively involved in animal welfare and volunteer at the local shelter, so I will probably be a frequent poster of animal related things.
Hi, welcome to the Stew from another north Texan. Glad to have you join us. Lots of good gardening information here and friendly people.
Welcome I'm a native Texan too. I just got back from visiting my Mom on Monday, May 7th. She lives near Gun Barrel City & they had flooding across the roads, but her roses were in full bloom. I have a great pic of them.

Texas Mud We've had some relief from the rain down here in Austin over the last 3-4 days -- how about you? My normally xeric and native plants are not blooming very well because they are starving for some sunshine! I just hope it isn't 100 degrees in October to make up for it!!!!
Howdy I'm new here too. Seems to be a number of Texans in the stew, huh? Got a brother in North Dallas area. He owns a restaurant in Flower Mound.
