Do you know how to root Gardenia? I tried with a stalk in water, but its leaves became yellow and it died. The stalk was in water around month. Does anyone know other ways to root stalk? :'(

Gardenias, along with azaleas and camelias can also be rooted while still attached to the bush. Take a low hanging branch, scrap the underside and place it with a brick on top directly on the ground. If there is grass under the bush then remove that so the stem is on bare ground. Or you can put a pot of soil and place the stem in the pot, do not cover the stem with the soil. Once roots form cut the stem away from the mother plant and you have a new gardenia.
