About 6 years ago a beautiful flower appeared in my front yard undoubtably planted by birds. It reseeded like crazy and for several years we had a house sized patch out front. It gradually moved out back and is all over the place. We love it and leave it wherever we can. It's right between the garden rows and on both sides of the fence. This Buckeye approves. I will save seed from it this summer if anyone would like some for next year.
WOW Bethie your very own sunshine in the garden. Neither wonder that Buckeye likes the flowers so much - they are really lovely.
Bethie they are a wild native for Texas and I have way to many .I pulled some up that was crowding my flower beds. They are so pretty and I love the Moth.
So bright and sunny. We have a wild kind in Delaware, and other cultivated kinds everyone goes crazy for. They bloom so long! The Moth picture is wonderful.
Bethie those are wonderful pics! We have tons of the Black Eyed Susans here too. I had to yank them out of my flowerbeds because they were taking over! We do as you and let them grow in patches well away from the beds! Love the Buckeye!!
Dooley and Teddybear, I've marked you on my calender for seeds. I'll let you know when they are ready. I should have said that is a buckeye butterfly. 8)
