I broke my tomato plant I was trying to move it and the main stalk fell over and snapped It wasnt getting any sun just heat from the driveway snd the cars so I moved them 10 feet they are potted is there anything I can do to repair them please PM me so I can try everything right away
Is the stalk still mostly attached? If so, just stand it back up so that the break is closed and stake the stalk...then keep it well watered and don't move it at all for a while. I did this to one of my tomato plants that I thought would be doomed because a main branch snapped and it worked. I don't know if it'll work for the main stalk, but it's worth a try. Good luck!
thank you thanks to all for the replys it did wilt on me so next year I know where to place them for the season I do have one that is fruiting so I will have a couple of tomatos this year anyway again thank you to everyone
Hey there Kevin, If the stem is only bent and not completely broken you can splint it with a pc of bamboo and some stretch garden tape.... If it is completely broken then you can take the broken piece and plant it. Tomatoes are exremely hardy and easy to clone.. I wouldn't suggest planting the broken pc if it is already bearing fruit... Fertilize it with high phosphorus nutrient to stimulate root development...Other than that, just give it a little TLC Good luck MS
