Minor kitchen disaster

    While everyone was at work, my girlfriend's son tried to make banana bread. He followed the recipe, except for the part where it called for 1/4 teaspoon of salt. He used 1/4 cup! :eek:

    The result was not pretty.

    Well at least he got everything else right!! Next time around I'm sure he won't make the same mistake again. :rolleyes:

    My sister did something similar before when baking buns as a teenager. I think she used too much baking soda or similar. Following the Irish tradition of applying nicknames to everything we nicknamed them 'stinky buns' and my family still brings them up in conversation even today :D

    Did anyone attempt to taste the banana bread Dan?

    The salt caused the bread to collapse into granite.

    Tell him not to fret! We've all done something like that. It's called LEARNING :-D My friend prepared a ham dinner for her in-laws at Easter. She kept basting this ham. When it came out of the oven and she tried to slice it she realized it was in plastic! :D
