We are finally getting a little relief from our severe drought!
I discovered this site quite by accident when I was searching for info on glass totems. I have made several, and it is a lot of trial and error--I was looking for professional advice. The totems are just one of many projects I have going on. I left the workforce about 5 years ago, and my days are mostly filled with play! We live close to Atlanta, in a little rural pocket that is rapidly being gobbled up. My husband and I are both avid gardeners, although he is the design brains of the couple. I can weed with the best, though! Children grown and gone now, we have our little sidekick--Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. When others say 'let me tell you about my grandchildren' I say, 'let me tell you about my dog'! Best boy ever. I'm looking forward to learning more about this community!

Hi Lucy, welcome to the Stew from north Texas.
There are some amazing glass totems on display here made by some very talented members so any questions you have will be answered for you.

Glad to hear your hubby is a gardener too. Mine isn't but he supports me by making things for me, lifting the heavy stuff and handing over his Debit card when we happen on a great plant sale. :-D

I know you will enjoy it here, lots of interesting things to read and friendly people to meet.

Hello from the Puget Sound of Washington State. I would someday like to travel and see your neck of the woods. I've read lots about your history.
Put up some pics of your pup. I have border collies (3) too! Mine work here on the farm and we do sheepdog trials. We all love pet pics.
    Welcome aboard.

It's great to have you with us.
I can't wait to learn about some of your creative projects.
I'm sort of a garden art fanatic, so I hope you'll share some photos, too. [IMG]

Welocme to the Stew! I'm from Delaware, but I do a lot of travelling to Atlanta for work. I think its a wonderful city. We stay in the Buckhead area often. There are some great gardens there that we pass by on walk abouts. Love the food in Buckhead, too!
