Hi, I was curious if anyone is growing coffee plants? If so, do you have any tips? Would they do better indoors or out?
I have had 2 in the past, at different times, and both died....But, we were in a dark apartment without much sunlight reaching us. I wanted to try them again.

    Never have thought about trying.
Outdoors they need temps ranging between low 60's at night to 70 or above daytime, lots of rainfall followed by lots of sunshine to match the conditions where they are grown in the tropics. Indoors the temp requirement is the same, filtered sunlight, keep the soil moist but not soggy and move outdoors in summer if possible.

It takes 4 years to have your first harvest, full yield starting in it's 6th year and lasting for 10 years, but the tree itself can live up to 60 years. Keep the tree pruned to about 10 feet tall for convenience and production or it will grow to between 16 and 40 feet tall.

It is a pretty tropical evergreen shrub, if nothing else.

I never thought about a coffee plant, much less it turning in to a 40' tree.

Where do you live? The climate has to be right.
