Well, I guess I should say hello first off. My name is Brian and I live in Prescott Valley, AZ. We are about 2 hours north of downtown Phoenix and about 2.5 hours south east of the grand canyon. I talked with our reference librarian on the evening hours about your tree. She said she had one taken down last fall because it started to die. She said the people from Watter's Nursery told her that it could be caused by both too much water or too little water. If they get too little water they can grow roots into your water lines and break them. The tree had grown under their sidewalk and raised it up. You might visit Watter's Nursery. It's on Iron Springs Road. Watch out for the construction though. We can still look for more help if you need it but check with Watter's and see what they say. Dooley
