Hi everone! I am Uros (25yr) from Slovenia, fresh newbye on this forum - just found it when I was looking for some pictures of finished interior design to get some ideas for my room. I have to decide about the color of the walls of my brand new room. It is not so small. Dimensions are long: 5,90m (19ft) x wide: 4,60m (15ft) x width:2,50m (8.2ft). The room will be somekind separated on 3 parts -> in the corner straight there will be bed (4.6x6.6ft), in the right corner there will be working part (computer desk) and on the left multimedia space (tv, hi-fi, sofa..) Currently the rooms looks like that: Some playing with Photoshop: On the floor there will be something similar like on following picture, but I am not 100% sure yet. And I was thinking if you can give me some help, because some of you are really an experts with your ideas! I don't have some opinion, what color I like the most, so I am open to see every suggestion. Uros
Those are nice colors, but I'm not sure I would paint the ceiling the darker tan. Seems as if it would make the room look smaller.
Hi Uros and welcome to GardenStew. Have you tried reversing the colours on the photoshopped version of your room i.e. putting tan on the smaller wall and white on the larger walls? I agree with LindaF about room appearing smaller. Having said that though you seem have a good light source so you can afford to experiment a little bit with darker walls. Just throwing a few ideas out there Hope this helps you or sparks the inspiration for others here. Best of luck.
HGTV.com photos HGTV.com has lots of photos--search "attic color" and you'll find a number of episodes that have pictures.
My friends have a mixed-use room that is the same color as you show. They added a few orangey-red touches and it really pulled the room together. I agree about HGTV.com, they have some very good ideas!
Thank you to all of you for your help! About HGTV - it is the first time that I saw that page, I will check it in details to get some ideas
Sorry, they live a ways away. But picture wall-hung vases on the tan wall, with big orange-red fabric poppies in them, throw pillows all sewn the same shape and size but in different prints of the same orange-red and white, and a rug rather similar to the one you pictured, only with random lines of the orange-red through it. Same color in the cloth & napkins on the dining table, and used for the shakers and storage jars in the kitchen. Small touches, but they really pull the spaces together.
