I have recently been very interested in buying new garden tools as my old ones are so old that they need a vacation more than I do.... Anyway, I did some research and ended up getting a fair amount of tools from a company called FISKARS. So far, I have been very happy with them and I still have more on order that I awaiting delivery on. I am curious if Garden Stew members have their favourite brands and where to find them. Any particular tool that you just can not live without? Much appreciated!
I have some small Fiskar clippers that I carry with me EVERYWHERE!!! My husband has had to sharpen them twice for me. I've probably had them 6 or 8 years. One of the handiest gifts he ever gave me Deanna :-D

My favorite hand trowel is the Comfort Trowel by Corona. I have had it close to 7 years now and keep thinking I need to order another one or two in case I ever loose it for good. I have misplaced it a time or two, or three....but usually after digging around under the newly laid mulch I find it again. The other tool I couldn't garden without is my garden fork. Brand is Rigid and they call it a Roofing Fork. It is the only thing strong enough to dig into the hard black clay we laughingly call soil here in north Texas.
I like Spear and Jackson garden tools. They last for years and are of a really great quality. For secateurs I like Felco best and have had my pair now for over twenty years and they're still as good as new.
I like Fiskars. They are durable, but they are very expensive. Many of my tools come from Gardena, wich is ok quality at comfortable prices. Seeing that I harvest shears, trowels and other stuff out of my trees in autumn, I'm not too keen on spending too much money on garden tools.

I bought almost all of my Fiskars tools online and bought them for pretty low prices overall. I didn't go for the top-of-the-line tools, but I got pretty good ones. The bypass pruners and bypass loppers were acquired at less than half price by doing a bit of "shopping" online. Now, if only I could get all my shade-loving plants on the cheap!
