Hello, from a home-seller's point of view, is it better to have a separate bathroom and toilet, or would it be better to knock out the wall and have them joined into one larger bathroom? Also, would it be better to have the bath taken out and a dedicated shower cubicle installed, or leave the bath? I have no personal preference, I am purely interested in what would be best for selling the property. thanks, daniela
morning Daniela and welcome to Garden stew. no expert here but it may depend on your bthroom size. (floor plan) if the neighborhood has children you may want to leave the bathtub and maybe you could attach an inside shower and put up a curtain.
Are the bathroom and toilet two totally separate rooms, or is there simply a privacy wall between them? Traditionally the toilet is in the bathroom, so that may be more accepted. I have to agree with Petunia about the bath. If it's already a bath tub/shower combination, leave it. Even those who aren't children enjoy a nice relaxing bath every now and then. How many bathrooms does the house have? What bathroom are you talking about? Is it off the master room, or off a hallway? Is it the only bathroom in the house? If there's another bathroom with a bath tub, it may not be such a bad idea install a shower cubicle.
Thanks for replies, Currently the bathroom & toilet are two separate rooms separated by a false wall, its a single floor flat, with only one bathroom and one toilet.
A bathroom without a bath can only count for a half bathroom. Therefore, from a home-seller's point of view, you should keep the bath. You may replace your current tub/shower with a bigger one that combines tub and shower in a cubicle construction.
Hi Daniela, yeh as i own my own property Company i suggest wat u should do is leave it as it is and just if you can depending on size u should build into the bathroom a shower in the corner or something because i can guarantee u will make more money if you have both a shower and bath!!!
I definitely think that having a full bathroom (toilet w/ bath) is more valuable upon selling. However, to get even more bang for your buck, if you built in a half bath somewhere else in your house it would be even better. Guess that depends on how big your house is.[/url]
