A friend of ours had his paternity leave all lined up. He was going to clear the garage, fix a fence and tidy up some odds and ends in the house.

He walked past here just now with his lovely baby girl, and told me he never realized how demanding children could be until now. He hadn't gotten round to any of his planned activities, and the only time he had available during the day, was when the baby had her afternoon nap. Then, he sheepishly admitted, he also had a nap. I discovered that I was able to tie a knot on my tongue.

Man will truly enderstand the joys of parenting when he's able to experience those wonderful nine months of gestation. :p Speaking of which, there's a site dedicated to male pregnancy. We've pretty much confirmed it's all false, but it's amusing, if nothing else.

Go daddy go! Means he's not leaving it all to his wife, which is great - I never thought an infant *could* be cared for by only one person without that person becoming a zombie. Maybe when that girl is a teenager, then she can help him finally clean out that garage. ;-)

I've always said if men gave birth to the 1 st child in every family.Every
    family would have one child.

All daddys get 14 days off work right after the baby's born, to stay home and get to know his child, and at the same time help the mother. Then they all take at least four weeks paternity leave somewhere during the child's first year, normally near the end of the total-48-weeks-leave so that the mother can get re-aquainted with her job. Norwegian fathers are extermely lucky, I'd say.

    I think so too.

LOL reality check indeed :) I have a friend going through the same thing right now. Luckily they all discover that their love for their baby matters a heck of a lot more!

I'll bet your friend has learned a lot since the birth of his daughter!

The man is besotted, so I believe we will see more children in that family as time goes by. Gotta love the dads who sneer at diaper talk and feeding-time problems before they become dads, and talk about nothing else afterwards.
