I am a relatively new gardener. I bought a home about two years ago and the yard has been severely neglected.
My husband and I started overhauling it this past summer which included filling a 30yd dempster with overgrown plants, dead trees and a BAG pit. And we are still not done. I am really looking forward to the part when I get to maintain rather than staring from scratch. I hope you guys have room for one more Garden Stew member. I would love to hang if you'll have me.

Hi therushin of course we have room for one more, you're very welcome to GardenStew :smt001 Sounds like your yard is a lot of work at present but it'll be worth it when you can gaze upon your achievements in future.

Hi therushin, welcome to the Stew from north Texas.
Lots of work involved when you take over someone else's neglected garden. But having an empty slate to start your garden on is great.

I really hate to tell you this but as you get your garden going next year you will find that there is always something else you want to plant, rearrange, there will be the almost constant thought of "I need to put a new bed over there for the gorgeous plants I saw at the garden center today" In other words, once the gardening bug bites there is not time when you just maintain :stew2: But it is a wonderful obsession and healthy too.

Welcome to the Stew therushin from central Texas here.It sounds like you have been really busy out in your yard.Toni is right, those new plants just wave you down and latch onto your heart and you just have to take them home with you and build the perfect new bed for them. You can tell its also an addicting habit but a healthy one.Jump in anywhere and enjoy in less than a week you will feel you have been on the Stew forever.

    Hi there Therushin

Welcome indeed from a supposedly sunny Cape Town. I just know you will like Stewing. Folks are all very friendly and supportive - The Garden Stew gets my vote for the best ever forum on the Internet.

Pardon my ignorance - what is CT short for?
