It snowed a little bit last night. This is what we found in the morning:

A small evergreen I decorated in the backyard.

Everything looks soooo pretty when it's covered in a layer of clean, white snow. Love your Chrissy tree. :stew1:

    snow

We were not too surprised, as the news was reporting it heading our way. Before we went to bed, it was snowing to the Northeast of us, so I knew we had a chance.
The Christmas tree is for my daughter. I always put blue lights on it & this year, I saw these dark pink plastic ornaments at Wal-Mart (I know!) and I bought a mess of 'em just for this tree. My daughter's favorite color is pink.
This is a fair amount of snow for West Texas. We generally get some snow each Winter, but it rarely gets very deep. Only trouble today is the wind has picked up from the North and it's 26ºF outside. It's too dang cold to stay out too long! It'll probably all be melted away by tomorrow.

Beautiful, [IMG] and oh so seasonal!
It's wonderful to see your lovely daughter enjoying it so,
I'll bet she's cuter than ever with rosy cheeks and nose from those chilly temps. :D

What a wonderful early Christmas present!! I'll have to check in on my various Texas relatives to see if they got some of the purdy white stuff!

How lovely that little snow angel is! Your home looks festive, the white snow makes all the colours stand out more. I've missed you, WTxDaddy.

    away

I know I've been away a lot, but I've just not been doing much gardening the last few months. I've planted pansies here & there & dead-headed many a stem, but I've been so busy at work & being a daddy, I just don't get on here. I have actually taken nice shots of some pansies, but justnever have gotten them posted.
Rest assured, when the weather warms up & it's time to start Spring planting (late March, early April here), I'll be back with questions & news.

Yeah, I can't get on as often this time of year, and my garden is just nothing until the end of April, it's easy to feel disconnected, but don't disappear on us entirely, lol!

    disappearance

Well, I don't really have to disappear from Garden Stew, but the content of much of my Winter posts is likely to be quite non-horticultural. That is, unless I do some sort of project. I have two projects I really need to accomplish: build a real greenhouse & storage facility (other than what I've already got) and completely re-do our flagstone patio. Neither of these would be easy at any time of year, but Winter would make each of them harder.

    Snow in New Mexico

Hi, I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We also got quite a bit of snow on Friday, Dec. 14. I would say about an inch or 2 !!
Plus, it is really cold here. Down to the teens at night.
Just waiting for March to come and start working on the yard and garden beds!!
    Happy Holiday!
