    Please help! We are in the process of adding on to our little old house. This morning the construction crew informed me that the neighborhood cats have been using our crawl space as a litter box!! I was so embarrassed! Is there anything we can throw under there to eliminate the odor? We need to find out how they are getting in and then lock it up real good. But first I'd like to get rid of that smell!

    For a space that large, I would use a bag of charcoal. It absorbs odor and won't leave a 'cover up' odor.

    Excellent Idea!! It will be easy to get it in there too since they have our crawl space open. I forgot to mention they trampled all over my Lily Of The Valley pips :( Guess I can kiss those little jewels goodbye

    Oh Netty I hope you're right! I love the dainty flowers and heavenly scent! I would get a new watch dog if I could talk my husband into it :D I think our Golden Retriever invites the cats over! They are his friends!

    We have 2 german shepherds and 1 cat, so I can assure you that we are familiar with animal odor...

    A friend of ours told us about this: I had my reservations, but I was wrong, it works..

    Place a plate full of sliced apples in the area and let it sit for a few days!!! I don't know why, but the apples absorb the odor really well.

    I know, it sounds funny, but it really works.

    Good luck

    I've heard that before! My animals would ask for peanut butter to go with the apples! yum yum!!

    ANIMAL ODOR

    HI, ;
    The most important step is to stop the cats from contributing to the odor problem; it will be very difficult to control otherwise.
    I don't believe I've heard that remedy before, but it makes a kind of sense; I'm sure going to try it here.

    I've used Nature's Miracle on bad carpet odors before -- worked great. I'm not sure if it would work in your crawl space, but I think it would. It is an enzyme and breaks down the urine. It doesn't have any perfume either.

    I like the dog idea mentioned above, too :-D

    :D baking soda and charcoal will work out fine. these two have the great ability to absorb odor and moisture.

    worth a try!

    I have also heard that leaving out little dishes of vinegar will kill the smell of animal urine, i havent tried it myself though, so good luck.

    make sure that your pets are often taken care, have them a bath so they wont smell!
