We opened gifts, ate a big breakfast, the afternoon went by leisurely...the movie A Christmas Story playing in the background with Kenny took a nap, Lisa and Randy surfed the web on their laptops, I was knitting another helmet liner and Amanda and the boys were upstairs playing video games.

We ate a big dinner and since everyone was ready for quite time on their own we packed up our goodies and came home.

Had a relaxing day. Visited my nearby family in the afternoon for tea. We aborted the TV as it was just the same old regurgitated fodder, and played a few games of Rummykub instead (a great game that doesn't require too much mental effort!) Eventually drove home getting very low on gas (as I'd forgotten to fill up on Monday) - but, as luck would have it, found a filling station. And poured a large Scotch :D

I hope it was the merriest you'd all had in many a year. We had a houseful of people, way too many gifts and too much food, oh my! Still, so nice to have some time to just hang out and play a couple boardgames instead of having to "be somewhere" - we even got some decorative snow flurries on Christmas Day here, a Big Event for us.

Happy Boxing Day to everyone in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and anywhere else that celebrates it!
