Hey, guys! Okay...I am sad to report that my Cyclamen is dead. Does anyone have any experience with this plant? It was given to me as a gift in a small plastic pot and since Christmas it has died a slow death...despite my efforts! :'( What should I do with it now? Should I try to root a piece of it or just throw it away? Also...my hubby to be is really obsessed with snake plants all of a sudden. How can we keep "Earl" small? We saw pictures of these types of plants in books where they get really tall. Is there anyway to keep him from getting super tall and keep him wide and squatty? Can we cut them or pot them in a different kind of pot? He wants him to stay like this forever...lol Thanks guys!
Cyclamen are bulbs. If they're not rotten, you might get it back, but I've no idea how to go about it. As for your snake plant, it's lovely, but in my opinion they are even lovelier when large. Hope somebody else might be able to give better help.
Snake plant Don't move the snake plant. He is correct.. They need little care and not repotted .They are fatter than mine.....Only planted once an that was it.
Snake plants like a crowded pot, no bright sunlight and water only when dry about half an inch below the surface. I have three of varying sizes. They are good for drawing dust and pollution from rooms. I dust my every now and again. I like them all sizes and they seem to grow as they like. dooley
Thanks guys! Does anyone else know anything abut what I can do with the dead Cyclamen? Plant outside? Repot indoors?
My snake plant is getting so tall. It must love the spot I have it in because it has grown so much since I bought it. One question? I have mine in the morning sun and someone said not to. Do I dare move it seeing it is doing great?
I read they don't like direct sun but if it seems to be happy I wouldn't worry about it. I have three of them. It gets cool in our house as we have no heat except for a wood stove and we don't use it at night and it's not heated while we are gone to work. They seem okay. dooley
The cyclaman may not be dead, jus resting in its dormant peroid, keep it in a dark and cool spot for three months of until you see it sprouting
