I bought a water tank and I want to install it so it has limited impact on the look of my lovely garden. I bought a colour to match the house (beige). I have heard of people painting tanks. I'd like to hear any other suggestions people have for hiding a water tank.
If you paint, maybe a dark color so it doesn't stick out among the plants. The beige color, being light, might draw attention to it? What kind of water tank is it...do you mean a rain barrel or something for the garden, or is it for the house?
Water tank. When I move to Colorado I plan on putting mine underground. I have been browsing Craigslist for deals and save them as a bookmark for when I sell my house in North Carolina. Not many people think of buying a water tank and putting underground but that's where cisterns reside. Also plan on running a line from my shower to it.
If you've got the space in your yard... It helps to create planting beds both behind and to the side of big objects like these...plant trees and larger shrubs in these beds that will help to draw your eyes away from from the eyesore and on towards your gardens.
Re: Water tank. Hi bullthistle, at this time it is illegal to collect rain water in Colorado. There is a movement beginning to get that law changed so you might want to make sure it is okay before spending money on the tank.
