We had 24 hrs of rain, freezing rain and now snow. There is about 1/4 inch of ice on the tree limbs and several limbs down in the yard. I just got the yard cleaned up on Monday when it was 70 deg. This morning I wake up and there is an inch of snow on everything. When I was clearing the walks, I ws serenaded by the coyotes back by the woods! Ahhhhhh Spring !

Well now that it is full daylight, I see that one of my cedar trees is down. It was a pretty big one too about 15 ft atll. The weight of the ice was just too much for it.

We've had the same kind of weather here in Ontario Capt. I'm worried about one of my old Sugar Maples, I hope she can take it.
    Sorry about your Cedar Tree.
Another snow day for my kids today.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about the tree, Capt. We've got the same weather here, but we started with the snow and wind. Now it's rain and wind. No trees down yet, only twigs and branches.

Sorry to hear about your cedar tree capt. Yesterday and today we have had sunshine but we still have snow on the ground. Our plow trucks are trying to push snow back as far as they can. We'll probably be hit with another storm yet.

Well, I did see an indicator that spring isn't too far off. There was a Red Winged Blackbird at the feeder this morning. Guess he could't find enough seeds out in the pastures. I mix cracked corn and black oil sunflower seeds together for the feeder and he was going after the corn. The sunflower seed runs about $17 for a 50 lb. bag and $8 for the corn. So the corn makes the sunflower go further. And the ground feeding birds are happier too.

So sorry about your tree Capn, we have down trees all over the back of the property from a hurricane a few years ago luckily we don't lose many to ice. I hope that's the only casualty, spring's on the way, it's just slow to waking.

That is crappy weather, especially when it's so close to spring and you're sick of snow and ice.

In like a lion and out like a lamb...

To top things off, they say a storm moving through Fri and Sat could bring 6 inches of snow or more plus freezing rain!
