I recently ran across this site and signed up after a test run. The site has oever 100,000 recipes and if you become a member and downlaod the software, you have web space to upload your recipes for safe keeping and others can view them. It will create a shopping list of your chosen recipes for the week, and entering your recipes, it will calculate the nutritional values. I have found that to be helpful editing recipes to fit the diet. http://www.bigoven.com
Looks like an interesting site, and I'll have to check it out. I like Allrecipes.com http://allrecipes.com/ ...they've got an ingredient search which I use a lot which gives you recipes based on the ingredients you have onhand. It's a great time of year for cooking and baking.
kaseylib, allrecipes is another favorite of mine. Have you seen http://recipesource.com ? I agree, a good time to spend in the kitchen, although I did start some seeds yesterday! :-D
Bud...I do enjoy Recipesource, too. Thanks. Not only do they have different food recipes from all around the world, but for other miscellaneous things like potpourri. It's great to have so many sites to choose from.
Thanks for the recipe sites. This one might be of interest. http://www.epicurious.com/recipesmenus/advancedsearch http://recipes.bgkulinar.net/ bw
Whatever did cooks do without the internet?? I use allrecipes all the time, that ingredient search is really helpful.
I've used most of the above at one time or another but lately I've been using this one: http://www.eatingwell.com/ I'm trying to watch my weight and everthing I have tried so far has been very good.
Checking your this thread will mean that I will not have a reason not to cook because I would not know what to make - thanks all for the links. 8)
hi i watch sam the cooking guy i made a few things of his and the kids all 6 said these are keeper recipes. samthecookingguy.com
One bad thing about AFN is not being able to see the cooking shows I miss back in the States. We do get a few Food Network shows so I get a lot of my recipes from foodnetwork.com. I also use epicurious.com and allrecipes.com. I haven't seen samthecookingguy.com. I am going to check that out. I am a cookbook addict (actually an any book addict) so if you are ever stuck for a recipe- hit me up. I cook for some of the guys on base- good thing or I would be huge!
I love the websites, especially nutritional value calculators, but I gotta admit, my beat-up, wartime vintage Joy of Cooking is what I reach for the most- yay culinary anachronisms lol!
