The question suddenly popped into my mind as I stood stroking my little fern. It's a bit sparse on the leaf side, but the spider legs are long and hairy, and the reason why I grow it:

I've got plantpets or petplants outside too. The small Artemisia is silken to the touch, even though it smells quite strong:

And the Rhododendron yakushimanum has a thick, velvety layer underneath the leaves. I always spend too long stroking the undersides instead of removing dead flowerheads:

Then it's the yellow Clematis with it's hairy, silky looking seed heads:

The tiny mint, Mentha requienii, isn't soft, it just smells nice, so I stroke it anyway:

The pulsatillas are also irresistible, and the lamb's ears of course. Which plant is your favourite pet?

Droopy I had forgotten that many years ago I had the Spiderleg fern. They are very interesting looking. But I think I will go with the Clematis. Love the color and airy look. Also like your new avatar!! ;)

I love my Artemesia and Lambs ears too Droopy. I also can't resist rubbing the Lavender and Thyme as I stroll past :)

That fern is gorgeous and does indeed resemble a spider - the tarantula type.
I love my Lavender and the Rosemary.
My mother has artemesia and she claims that I manhandle her plants. :stew1:

Herbs and spices are nice to touch, and I always spend more time weeding around them than I need.

    Mint

I like to gently rub my mint leaves for the nice clean mint smell.

I 'manhandle' my mints, Rosemary, Lemon Balm, Lavender, Patchouli and Pineapple Sage frequently because they are on the outer edge of the garden and easy to reach.
And the Curry plant is nice too.
