    Hey Folks :)

Been on the board reading comments for the past week and well - it's time for me to post about my new studio flat in Dubai :)

Alrighty! It's not so much of a big studio flat, as some know Dubai is quite expensive. Home rent is normally paid upfront for 1 year in either 1 cheque or if you are lucky 2 cheques (meaning every 6 months you pay in advance) It's a weird system of things but it goes!

Ok - so here are some pics, and I would like to know your feedback in regards to what you think would look good in my flat and please do post images of whatever you do suggest. I was at ikea today and I saw some pretty cool stuff!

    This is the area

kitchen on the left. I'll put a Washer & Dryer on the left side and on the right will be the oven

Across the kitchen is the Fridge place & bathroom.

    Bathroom.

View from the end of the room to the kitchen. So from where I am standing I am thinking of putting my bed there. and on the right side of the pic put a 40inch flat screen tv on the wall. A long stand type of shelve to put my dvd player and so on. On the Left side I am thinking of putting a black leather couch with a black table on a black patterned rug?

Ok so that's about it. GIve me some ideas folks :)

OK just realized that my last pic is kinda hard to follow with what I am trying to do.

    Ok!

The BED will be on the far side of the room (where the window looking outside is) the bed will be facing SIDE B.

Side A will be where I want to put my couch & table & run

Side B will be my TV & stand for dvd player, movies and so on...

    So what you think?

I need some help please ;)

A lovely flat you have there . . . and good neutral tones to work with. . . Plants and throw rugs with some color to make it pop is what I say!!!! Love your pedestal sink in the privy. We need to know a bit about you in order to advise . . . likes, interests, favorite colors etc. The black sofa and other things you suggested sound like they will look quite handsome where you are placing them . . . How about a boston fern or ficus tree, . . . snake plants (mother-in-law tongue) do not require a lot of light . . . you could do venetian blinds with toppers, or sheers . . . your place has potential, and a great basic foundation to work from. Congrats!!! ;) (why am I thinking red poppies when I see your basic palette ????)

hahah! nice post! Thanks for the post!

Yah it's a cute little start this studio flat! You wanna know about my interests? Alrighty let's dig in!

I'm very artistic, I majored in Film Studies in University and I work was a creative director. So I want the look of my flat to come off being "WOW this dude is pretty creative"!

I was ganna get a large NY or PARIS city frame and put it behind my couch! Just to give my flat a little character :)

So - uhmm - I like colors also - but I think the dominating colors of the apartment is "WHITE - the walls and floor" and brows/beige (kitchen & tiles & bathroom).

Im soooo anxious for your reply ;) To be quite honest I never thought home decorating would be this fun, I always figured I'd let my gf do that stuff cuz when it comes to art & positioning things right I can become a control freak! :(-

My suggestion is a poppy print . . . matted and framed (in a black frame, of course) I found a website that sells prints with different price ranges) http://www.art.com/asp/search/ProductSe ... EFC24B889B

or a art festival poster matted and framed would be nice . . . type in red or new york or paris on the above site . . . you need something rich in color.

With your background and taste, I am confident that you will find something big and nice . . . to add that splash of color that will impress the guests you and your girlfriend entertain. ;)

    a potted palm . . .
