    Hello everyone!
My name is Brittany, I'm 17 years YOUNG ;) , I'm from the south-eastern region of Pennsylvania and I love Roses (not only are they pretty and smell good, but Rose is my middle name!)! I actually just bought my first rose bush plant yesterday, so I'm excited to see it grow. I seriously can't wait to see the roses bloom! haha.

Well, just thought I'd pop on and greet everyone! Now, off to find out more information about roses....

    Thanks!
    -Brittany

Hi Brittany, welcome to the Stew from north Texas.
It is so good to see the gardening bug bite young people. Before long you will have those blooms and don't forget there are so many different kinds and colors of roses that you probably won't be able to stop at just one. ;)

Haha, you're right- I wanted to get more than just one bush the other night but Mom wouldn't let me. Haha, oh well. I'll definitely do more than one bush.

Thanks for the welcome toni, Netty and Droopy!

A big ol' welcome from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Great to have you with us Brittany. Is the rest of the garden bed infront of your deck fair game for you to plant in?

hello Brittany, and welcome from the still frozen Norwegian Artic. This is a great place to be, and lots of rose lovers here in this forum. You'll feel right at home here!

I named my daughter Brittany, and spelled the same way! Britt for short.

Hi Brittany and a warm welcome to GardenStew. I echo what Toni said about young people getting into gardening, I would guess it's getting rarer as time goes on. Quite early to get bitten by the gardening bug but you won't be able to shake it off now :)

    Wow, hello everyone! Haha.

    Thanks for all the welcomes!

About the garden by the deck lexxive, yes,it's game. We used to have these what I called "dune Grass" like bushes out there but they wilted and died (when we had them, I didn't have the time to care for them and well, let's just say neither did mom =]). So theyre gone. I think we also had hydrangeas out there too but we moved them to the smaller gardens out front. I'll have to take pictures of that soon.

I want to put more rose bushes out back, maybe two more (one to the left and the other to the right of the on i've already planted) and I'd LOVE daisies, too.

Biita- that's really neat! i've heard of a lot of gals who share my name but they all spell it like Britney Spears does or just "Brittney". Oh well =]
BTW- I'm part Norweigen! Cool to see someone from Norway! =D

    Thanks again guys!
    -Brittany

Welcome to the stew Brittany. Lots of good people and info here. I used to have a couple of rose bushes. I'm in Southern Maine though and the winters here are tough. I had replaced them several times and have now given up. Good luck with yours and we love pics here.
