Sjoerds recent post of the hollyhocks inspired me to get my brushes and oils out, here is the result. It did not photograph as well as it looks.

It's got amazing detail, and I first thought it was a photo, it's so lifelike. You've got great talent! Could I please see the whole painting from a little distance? :setc_089:

Thanks Droopy and islandgirl. It is the size of the canvas. I normally like to do closeups.

I am really amazed...and not to mention flattered that you would choose that foto.

Ohhh how beautiful. You are quite talented. I've always admired people who can paint. It's got great detail. How amazing. Thanks for sharing. Maybe we could see some others?

Thank you everyone. Sjoerd, I know it was a long time coming! Oil has taught me a little patience....of course gardening has as well!

I have posted a couple others on my blog, WTxDaddy. There will be more posted of some past works on my blog shortly. I am trying to collect all of my photos to scan. Almost everything I have done have been gifts, so I don't have many of them.

There are a lot of talented individuals here, and I am so glad I've joined the STEW!
