I ve just been up to my seed supplier , getting ready for the new season, I was showing Mrs. Bugs the selection purchased , when she burst out laughing :( . Every year I have the usual types of vegetables and herbs , but this is the thing ....... my parsley is always a disaster :? ....... She and her mother grow great parsley . In fact her mothers is self seeding.
Ive just visited some sites on how to grow it successfully and discovered an interesting point . In bygone days only witches could grow it . Now Im worried is there a connection :D 8) Bugs

That's what Ian used to say too Bugs, however, I think he now swears it was more of a curse than a spell. ;) ;)

:D :D Very good Eileen , However on a more serious level , is it not incredible that women were burned at the stake for witchcraft , just for having a knowledge of herbs. This knowledge would have been handed down through generations. Most people know that docks will sooth nettle stings etc. Have you any special cures?
My own granny used bread poultices for all sorts of cuts and wounds. Linement cloths for athritus etc.
Witches have a special place in my heart ;) Bugs

It's "him who wears the pants that grows it".

    I never have trouble!

I think I can't groe parsley either. Out of a whole packet of seeds that I planted last year, I got two plants. They did very well though. Dooley

I'm going to try my hand at parsley this year. It's supposed to attract butterflies, so I'm going to plant it near my milkweed, which is supposed to attract monarchs.

I gave up on starting it from seed and bought two good-sized plants from a local nursery. Stuck them in the ground at the edge of my garden and they've been doing great...Now I have to wait to see if they reseed themselves like they're supposed to or not! I hope so, we love our fresh tabouli.

Parsley is one herb I don't even have to think about. I took a start from my moms plant years ago & I've got a start from that one .....now here in a pot at the new house. My difficulty is remembering to use it!!!

    Bugs,
if you are having no luck with parsley you can try growing coriander instead.
It is also known as Chinese parsley and can be subbed for regular parsley in most dishes.
