Hi fellow flower friends.......thought I'd share some of the beautiful blooms in the Arizona Desert....specifically in my garden for these. A couple are part of last years collection to show the plant in entirety. Enjoy

How very very beautiful, it's not often we get to see a blooming cactus (I don't recall ever seen an image of one posted here at GardenStew). Thanks so much for posting these for us CactusFlower.

I almost didn't check out the pics. I thought, well I've seen yellow blooms on cacti before, boy was I underenthused. THOSE BLOOMS ARE ADORABLE! Wow, how pretty and inocent they look. I have only seen pear cactus in bloom outdoors before (yelow bloom) and I have some on the outskirts of my gardening zone. But those are lovely. Thanks for teaching an old flower dog a new trick (love for cacti).

Oh, I am green with envy. I love them and kill everyone I get, I did get flowers one year though. Your cacti are very healthy.

This is how it is here in the spring and if the conditions are right, which they are this year, there are tons of blooms in the desert!

Where I live it is hilly with lots of mountain views! In fact, I walked 6 miles around these hills of Carefree yesterday and unfortunately no camera (only my water and my ipod). There were millions of 'good photos' to be had~~~they are all in my memories now. The Palo Verde trees are in bloom now and the hillsides are peppered with these trees in full yellow bloom. I saw lots and lots of unusual cacti in full bloom too. One had a flower that looked sort of like an orange zinnia!?!? Oh the Sahuaros are blooming too.........I think they are sooo magnificant. I thought about going back out today and actually getting 'photos'. If I do I will post them.

I never take for granted the beauty around me. We really live in a beautiful world if you can see it. It depends where you focus. I love to travel and see all the beauties. This 'community' is such a wonderful place to see beauty through everyones eyes and the photos that are shared..........right here at our computers!!! Thanks to everyone here for sharing. Kathy
