    Hi Cindy,
I'll trade you some irish dampness for some sun.
    Welcome to the stew.

Thank you all for the welcome...

I finally had a chance to sit and read many of the postings, blogs and to see all the lovely pictures! Yet this is truly a cozy forum, glad to be aboard. (I didn't realize at first there are folks from all over, duh). Looking forward to checking in often and (hold onto your hats) may even start a blog though my everyday life just not hold a candle to many of yours, ha-ha, especially you lucky retirees (how I envy you).

We're supposed to have a big fall in temperature here in my neck of the woods (dipping down into the low 30's tonight, very unusual - glad most of what little I've planted is hardy). Anyway, I wish you all a glorious day wherever you are.

    Hi Everyone!!

I'm Jessy (obviously). I love home decorating and gardening (though I'm terrible at the latter one ... I can lay everything out but I can't keep it alive). I'm a writer by trade, as well as a mom of two -- a 3.5 year old and an 11 week old.

I just started blogging about my projects, which should be fun. I love getting feedback on my ideas.

Oh, and I love garden gnomes . . . my current outdoor project is a gnome habitat. Yes, I'm kind of goofy. :)

    Hi Jessy. :-D

Gosh it sounds as though you have your hands full.
We'd love to see some photographs of your children and of course your gnome habitat. ;) Frank might just drop in for a visit if you have some of his relatives there!!! :D :D

What kind of writing do you do? I don't think we've ever had an author here at GardenStew before.

Looking forward to get to know you. :D

Hi Jessy, great to have you here  I'm very interested to hear about your liking of gnomes (as you can probably assume from my profile pic ) You must let me know when it is finished so my gnome relatives can visit :D

Lots of great, helpful people here so you will have a fun, informative time!

    Thanks for the welcomes!!

My gnome garden is still a work in progress. Right now I'm picking out and planting some bushes and looking to add some large rocks -- and of course gnomes! I adore the ones on 'www.garden-gnomes-need-homes.com', but wow are they expensive! In the meantime, my youngest child is getting to wear diapers made out of gnome fabric and my oldest is helping with the garden . . . she already picked and planted a sort of sad looking bush that our friendly garden center people told her she could have (yes, it's in that bad a shape!)

Eileen, I write about all kinds of things. Right now, my blog is being sponsored by a company that sells blinds, so I get to write about home decor and such. One of my last projects was a more political sort, writing about the poor state of education in the US. I like getting to pick and choose from things that interest me already.

    Thanks again for the welcomes!!

Hi. I'm Stuart and I love gardening.

I am in my early 30's and married to a beautiful woman and we have four gorgeous children. We built our home 3 years ago and have been creating its gardens ever since.

We live on a small rural block (approx 700sqm)and are trying to cram in as much stuff as we love into the property as we can.

I know what you mean about cramming in what you can - I think all of us tend to fill up whatever space is available to us given time, lol.

    Welcome!
