I looked up my records, and think this is a 'Therese Bugnet'. Can't wait to see it in a few more days!

Are these the rose bushes that grow along the maine coast and the petals themselves are used in vitamin-c tablets that are organic called ester-c?

They would look nice on both sides of our driveway :-D

Hey!!! I have that here! I'll be darn, i knew it was a rose of somekind but the leaves threw me. Not rose like at all.

So the leaves can be eaten, huh? Geez i'm seeing rose honey, rose conserves, rose vinegar.

I'll have to look this one up.

It looks very similar to ones we have here in ME. It may be part of the family. Mine aren't near to bloom yet. They are gorgeous Pianolady. Thanks for sharing.

Neither wonder it's your favourite as it's absolutely beautiful. Those rosebuds would be ideal to crystalise and decorate cakes with but, then again, they look so lovely on the bush I'd probably leave them to bloom.

I wish mine was that big! Mine has been neglected for yrs. and i just started clipping away at it 2 yrs ago. Do you do anything special to yours or how do you go about clipping it back. I think mine is just 4 branches that is getting new ones, i checked, but is there anything else i can do to help it along.

All my plants thrive on neglect in this section of the garden, as it's too far from a water source and next to a walnut tree. I'm not sure why it's taken off the way it has in such a hostile environment.

I only cut back when it's getting out of hand. It appears it has sent up a sucker about 3' away from the original plant that I may try to transplant. I get very little winter kill, maybe that's the difference?

Okay, well i got the neglect part down to perfection. lol. Flowers are kind of a new experience for me. This bush was planted yrs ago, and after i started to clear out a section of the once was a picnic area, i discovered it. I let it go the first yr. waiting to see what it was. the second yr i started to take away all the dead branches and such. Last yr was the first yr i actually showed it any love so to speak. Winters when the snow falls it is totally covered by about 4 ft of snow. How it is still living i have no idea.

So basically i should just leave it alone, and maybe now and then look at it,,lol. I can do that,, and do it well too!
