    Good Afternoon Everyone!

Today my hubby and I were tying some of our butterfly bushes to some stakes due to some pretty nasty wind that's been heading our way. On our way in I happened to notice something making its way around the wall of the pool. I made my way closer to the side of the pool to get a better look and was surprised to see a turtle bobbing up and down the surface of the pool. I felt sorry for the little guy and put him in my garden (my daughter Claire wouldn't have had it any other way! ;)

I'm wondering if he might be bad for the garden, though. I do have some strawberries and from what I've read that's a turtle-delight, but will he get the munchies for my flowers as well? From the pictures on the web he looks like a little box turtle with his red eyes and pretty yellow patterns on his shell. Are box turtles considered as a pest or pal in the garden?

Thanks guys for any suggestions. I hope all is well in everyone's neck of the woods!! Take care!!

    I found this: http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/Repti ... turtle.cfm

I didn't read through the whole thing, but noticed what he eats. Berries is on the list, but so are slugs and so many other things...including birds! Weird.

Anyway, I'd like to see some pics of him if you get a chance. Good luck!

Thanks for the website. I'll def. take a look after Claire takes her afternoon nap!!

I went outside to see if I could take a quick pic. of my little visitor but I guess he took cover from our wild winds (weather channel says it should get up to 50mph by lat this afternoon) and scorching sun. Hopefully I can get a picture by tomorrow. I'll be sure to get one. Thanks tschnath! The website is much appreciated! :stew1:
