Hey all - I recently moved into a small efficiency studio type apartment...the main room is 144 sq feet! I was wondering what types of ideas I should follow when planning the layout. I'm going to post pictures later, due to the unique size and layout of this efficiency apt. :-o Thanks!

Hi, welcome to GardenStew. It would probably be best for us to wait for the photos or a rough overhead layout of the apartment before making suggestions. Hope you can get them posted soon.

Hi! You'll get some good ideas when you post pictures, but my whole early apartment was about that size. It was dark, with a dark-stone fireplace but I just rolled with that and went with a den-like feel. The most important thing with a place that small is to keep accessories to a minimum, and every thing should serve more than one purpose. I decided to do without a TV to save space, so was exceptionally well-read at that point. Glass-top tables really open things up, if you can get them, and any storage that can hang on the wall is a good thing. Just remember you'll have to spackle when you move out.
