Hello all...well the first major winter storm hit New England. Over night we got 8 inches of snow here in Groton and then the freezing rains came. When I woke this morning the ground was covered and it was raining. All schools were closed today through out the entire state. Some parts of the state are without power. My mom is at a hotel because the power had been out since early morning and it was not restored as of the afternoon. My brother does not have power either. Some home we didn't get the power outage here.

It was slow going this morning. I had to bring my husband to work. took an hour to go what is normally 25 minutes. But slow and steady and we got there.

I plan to take pics tomorrow. The trees are all heavy with ice and are really beautiful. It is amazing how something so beautiful can do so much damage.

I hope all those out in Stew land that went through this storm are well and warm. :stew1:

That's the worst, when the snow just rains away before we get time to enjoy it. I hope your folks have got their electricity back.

I hope the storm isn't the first of many but an isolated incident. Take care and, fingers crossed, the power is back on soon for everyone.

Oh there still is snow on the ground...8 inches of snow doesn't go away too quickly, even with the rain. Now it is hard and crusty becuase it got cold last night.

Snow can be so pretty, yet so destructive. I hope all that rain doesn't freeze ...that's when a lot of damage happens.
I'm sure the kids were thrilled to have the day off school and hopefully everyone's power has been restored.

That's what we had during the last snow fall. I don't like the crusty snow, it's impossible to have fun in it.
