I am so excited!!! I spoke to my son yesterday, and the good news is he is comming to visit me on April 30th. He gets leave for 18 glorious days to come see his mother in Norway.

I have known about this for a while now but have been hesitant to post with my good news. His leave has been changed 2 times since he first told me. But yesterday he called and said they finally drew up the leave papers, signed them, and stamped. So its official, he will be leaving Iraq on the 30th. First to Balad, in Iraq, then to Germany and finally to Norway.

He was telling me that his friends are really mad at him,(in a good way) because when they go for leave they are all going back to the states. When he was asked what part of the states is he going to visit he said he wasn't. He was going to Europe. He said he got hit with so many paper balls then cracked up laughing. Then the requests come. Guess what they all want from Norway,,,,,the plastic replica helmets that the Vikings wore,,,lol. geeez. Even his Luitenent.(spelling?)

This is his first leave in 2 yrs since joining the army so I can't wait to see him. His birthday is on April 24, so this will be a combination celebration for us. His homecomming visit and birthday.

I just wanted to share the good news with all my garden friends from all over the world.

    And the count down starts,,,,,,,,,,,,

This is fantastic news, Biita. I can see that you didn't want to jinx the leave possibilities by speaking of it too soon.
I'll bet that while you sound like you have your excitement under control in your posting, I'll bet that you are exploding with joy inside all the while.
I'll bet that anyone on here that knows you is extremely happy for you too.
    I'm not usually a betting man. ;)
    Well, congratulations, proud mum!

Oh, that's wonderful! I bet he's sooooo stoked to see his mamma. Any special plans for when he arrives? I'm sure just being home is a gift enough, but it might keep you occupied for the next few weeks if you plan a little home-coming party :-D

    Congratulations!!!
