Should I or shouldn't I? Sometimes life can be like a dream. Are my thoughts, dreams or whatever for real. Here we are in January. January BRrrrrr. That time of year when many of our gardens look sad and neglected. Strange! As that man often said. I don't believe it. Nevertheless. I have some roses in bud and some blooming. Wowee. Then on the other hand. Recently I have suffered so many losses. I ask myself. Is it worth spending out on more roses. Roses continue to remind me of my late wife. So here goes. I am browsing the most highly scented roses on offer.
Do let us know what ones you decide on Mike. There's nothing nicer on a warm, sunny day than the scent of roses.
My mother was British, so always had Roses. When she died, I dug up one of her 40 year old ones in Feb and stuck it in my yard. It survived. I moved a few years after and should have brought it with me but didn't. I have 3 in a bed here, going to get get a couple more this spring.
Of course you should. Life is short, and I feel we need to put as much joy in it as possible. If that joy is roses, then so be it.
What a palarver. Selecting some new roses.Problems with the website, some of my selection went into my basket, some didn't. Anyway. Very late into the night, I decided to order via the contact page. Then before daybreak. I felt unwell. I have a bit of a heart problem. Firing up the computer, I messaged the rose firm cancelling the order. Great. Nothing had been processed. Still intent on owning more roses, I am going to order these. That’s Jazz. Sugar Moon. Scented Memory. It’s A Wonderful World. Belle de Jour. Giardina. Blackberry Nip. Hamilton Princess. One in a Million. Lovely Parfuma. Royal Parfuma. Mary Berry. Casino. Scent from Heaven. Summertime. Red Eden Rose. I've ordered potted plants. This will give me more time to plant them. Here's to the future.
So here we are again. Closing in upon Valentines day. 14th February. This is special to me. Sixty plus years ago. I met this lass, and it was. Love at first sight. Sadly heart disease and that universal enemy death, took her away from us, 9.6.2010. Nevertheless. Valentines day is Valerie's birthday. 14.2.1944 so lest I forget. I have not found a rose named Valerie. However I have more than one. My Valentine. Great rose. Happy memories.
