    Earwigs are not good bugs!
I don't know about plants in pots but when I had them in the garden I mixed molasses in a little water and put it in shallow lids all around the garden. It takes care of the earwigs.

I consider earwigs a neutral bug. Not necessarily good or bad. But they can be destructive. They eat anything. plant debris or flowers. too many is not really helpful in the garden, but a healthy population is okay. They consume oodles of dead foliage ...just like pillbugs. I have never seen so many of those in my life as this year. I always thought they weren't destructive, but for me this year they have destroyed several plantings of vegetables. My entire first row of pink tomatoes...gone, overnight. :-x .they ruined a couple moss wreaths I had in the greenhouse on the floor (not on dirt or gravel, on ground cover). They ate all the moss where the succulents weren't growing yet. Earwigs like it damp, too. So the damp contributes to their population numbers. Maybe put diatomecious earth around the plants. It may help.
