    Looks like you got to them in time. I think they should be okay.... they certainly look healthy and almost ready to bloom.

    They look just fine to me and should go on to flower for you soon. I tend to plant mine deeper than yours as we have gale force winds here any time of year. It gives them a little less chance of being blown over.

    I'd leave them now until they flower and the foliage starts to die back naturally. You can then choose where you want to plant them. Mine are around three to four inches into the soil and they come back every year and bloom well for me.
