33 tonight, 31 tomorrow night, 32 the next night (*^$^%& For the next seven months the tropicals will be inside giving off oxygen in return for tender loving care. The problem is they are getting too big for us to be moving. The Christmas cactus and ferns are getting too wide to get through the door. I wonder if they would be worth putting on Craig’s list? Darn cat stepped on the keyboard and erased my message *grrrrrr!**sigh* Im glad my tropicals are all small enough to move easily, although theres quite a few of em. But my bf's corn plant! That thing is huge! At least 10 ft tall. It has to be tilted to the side very carefully to fit through the door.
Glad most things fit through the door for you...we have had some cold nights too, I think it was 27. I hope my hibiscus is doing alright in the garage, I have to spray it this weekend and cut it down to fit through our house doors. So many buds on it yet. Most likely I can cut the branches and stick them in a jar to open.
I dragged in 2 6 ft Oleanders, as well as a few other plants the other day. Sherry just reminded me there is a Hibiscus out in the back garden ... I forgot all about it!!
I still have a little time before I have to move some of my tender plants indoors. The tallest is the African Milk Tree and one of the Cyreus. The others are small enough to easily bring indoors... or stash under my "winterhouse".
I've gotten rid of my big old plants. Some were more than 30 years old. It was a slow process, but it is nice having small plants again. Thank god for plant exchanges, charity auctions, friends and coworkers.. I hadn't realized how they had taken over my home. Little plants are so much less work.
we had a hard frost last night and most my outside flowers are now gone till spring wahhh I hate dreary winter
The worst part is pull overs, caps, ear muffs, scarfs, gloves, winter shoes and dear the basement needs cleaned up and after that the garage needs cleaned also. Is there no end and when is spring going to get here?
