My wifes mother turned 90 today. She didn't want anything special done for her. So her oldest son said that he was taking her out to dinner someplace nice. She came walking into the Italian Restraunt and there was her whole family setting there waiting for her. I think she as really surprised and seemed to enjoy herself. She still lives on her own and takes care of her home and still drives. But she does have family all around her. We live the furthest away and that is only 20 miles.

Hmm, how nice for her and for all of you to get to celebrate her together. I'm sure she will remember it as a really special day.

Your mother in law must have got quite a shock to see everyone there waiting for her at the restaurant. What a lovely surprise - so glad she enjoyed her 90th birthday treat!!! :D

What a wonderful and special day she must have had. And what a special and strong to be living on her own. And driving at 90...good for her!

It is nice to hear she is able to be on her own and still drive. My Mom is 85 and recently had to give up her driver's license, her Dr. recommended it and she accepted it but is not happy to be dependent on her children.

That sounds lovely Capt! May we all live to be 90, self sufficient, and have such a wonderful loving family like yours.

Your Mother-in-law is one fortunate woman. She's got what we all dream of having when we're 90. :D I hope she loved her day.

I think older people don't want you to bother with parties and things so it is great that you surprised her....90 and living alone is great..she is one lucky lady to have everyone close.
