... with a bit of pink and white mixed in. Between the rainshowers I went outside to see if anything bloomed, and it did:

Wow, they are all gorgeous. The blue of the Gentiana acaulis is wonderful. I have seen mini-Iris in some plant catalogs, now I am wishing I had ordered some but I have it on my want list for fall ordering.

Thank you for liking my colours! :D

The Gentiana is a lot darker blue in RL, but my camera is really silly with blues and pinks. And the Iris is really tiny, about two inches tall, but good at spreading out.

Wow, I guess it has! Some beautiful blooms there, Droopy and I'm glad you're not the one who's blue.

What a fantastic array of flowers already. I adore the gentian, I have a real soft spot for blues in the garden and I noticed today that my trilliums are up and have buds, but I think they are in the wrong place so I will have to mark where they are and move them in the autumn.

P a sword I assume is Primula Auricula and it is just gorgeous!!

Beautiful flowers and lots of unusual things too. I'd love to be able to take a stroll through your garden. So pretty.

Your photography is gorgeous too. What kind of camera do you use? I am trying to learn more about mine.

It is a feast for the eyes, Droopy. I just keep scrolling up and down...down and up...up and down as I so often do when you show some of the specimens in your garden. The Primulas, the Arisaemas, the Irides ...such colour, such variety. It is wonderful to see. That green and white Arisaema--is that a normal one, or is it a hybrid?

Thank you all for your kind words. :D

Yes, EJ, "Sword" is an auricula. I am fascinated by that leaf behind the blooms. All the bloom clusters have them.

daisybeans, my camera is a simple point-and-click Pentax Optio E20. Sometimes it takes good photos, sometimes it's horrible to me. :D

Sjoerd, I don't know which one it is. I shall have to ask mother, but I think it's a species.

Your blooms are all fantastic Droopy. I really like the P a Sword...I've never seen anything like it. I also love the color of your Gentiana acaulis.

Well that is encouraging to me then, maybe I will eventually achieve the clarity that you have!

You have a nice eye for composition too. Boy they are pretty. I've just had another look at them.

Thanks Netty, I'm awfully fond of weird plants like "Sword".

Daisybeans, I found a setting that says "close up" on my camera, the button has a tulip on it. After I discovered that, the photos suddenly made a quality leap. :D Plus I take 10-15 photos of every bloom to make certain one might look OK. They don't most of the time.

I love blue days too!! And the other color days are great also. Very very pretty droopy. I can imagine walking thru your garden being happy even if it is a rainy day.

I do like that sword plant. very different.
