One of my aunts gave me a few of these last year. But only 2 of the 5-6 are blooming. Sure are pretty flowers. I'll have to look into seeing what I can do to get the rest to flourish. Crinum611 ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
Pink is my least favorite color but your pink Crinum is really very pretty. I keep seeing them at the garden centers and I have a spot for a couple of them but just never actually buy them. I have a coupon for HD...buy two perennials get one free that expires on Wed. I think tomorrow is the time to do it.
Your Crinum is very pretty. I don't know much about Crinum except that they're a bulb. If they were divided and planted last year they might just need a year to fatten up.
I think that it turned out beautifully. Well, I mean to say that its bloom is beautiful. That looks so good there in your garden.
Crinum (also called Cape Lily here) are undeniably beautiful blooms and I really like the colour of your ones.
Those are pretty. I suspect it is a much warmer growing zone plant than here, because I've not seen these before. although we have one called naked lily that bears it's foliage and flowers at separate times. It is also pink, but not as nearly broad petaled.
Toni.... a coupon to HD?? Hmmmmm... I might have to see if there's one of those laying around here! Droopy... you may be right. I planted some early last year, these may be the one's. Guess the others will bloom next year. Will be really pretty to have a lot of them blooming at once. Thanks for the nice words everyone!
Cheryl, go to the HD website and sign up for their Garden Club. They email assorted coupons a couple of times a month. Most I can't use but some are really nice.
I'm jealous I want some of those sooooooo badly. I bought one off of ebay, I think they called it "wine & milk" or something like that. Our growing season is so short I only got one leaf and then it froze
So sorry to hear that Strat! Any chance of growing it indoors? And yes... I've heard my aunt refer to them as Milk & Wine Lilies.
